Lexus has developed a prototype for a hoverboard.

Or so says Bloomberg in a story posted this week. Thus proving what I always hoped: Marty McFly’s future is not so far-fetched.

In the 1989 film, McFly took a whacky ride “Back to the Future (Part II)” with Doc Brown in a DeLorean and disembarked in 2015. Flying cars and dehydrated pizzas capable of morphing into full-sized pies may be years away yet. But you may find yourself gliding along on a hoverboard in the not too distant future.

According to the Bloomberg Business news website, the automaker’s working model of a hoverboard is not yet for sale.

Hey Lexus, if you need a test market I’m raising my hand! (As long as knee and elbow pads are included).
